Federle Heirloom Tomato is a popular open-pollinated heirloom paste tomato variety.
Fruit Shape and Size: Elongated, banana- or pepper-shaped red tomatoes, typically 6-7 inches long, meaty with very few seeds.
Flavor: Rich, full, tangy tomato taste—excellent balanced profile that's great fresh but shines in cooking.
Growth Habit: Indeterminate (vining plant that produces throughout the season), matures in about 85 days.
Uses: Ideal for sauces, paste, puree, canning, salsa, and processing due to its low seed count and meaty flesh.
Origin: From West Virginia, USA
Sow indoors in flats with good potting soil as early as February, but no later than April. Keep warm and well-watered. Up pot seedlings into 4” pots once they have two true leaves. Transplant into the garden once danger of frost has passed.
