Apple Melon (sometimes Cucumis melo var. dudaim, also known as Pomegranate or Queen Anne's Pocket Melon) produces small, round or tear-drop shaped fruits (about 3 inches) with golden-yellow skin striped in orange or green. These are grown primarily for their intense, sweet fragrance—historically carried as natural perfume—and can be eaten skin-on like an apple when fully ripe, with a flavor blending honeydew, apple, and cucumber notes.
